Bodywork Offerings at Black Rock Yoga
Deep Bodywork™ by Kerstin Santa
Enjoy specialized treatment? In addition to 20 years experience in Swedish Massage, Kerstin has been studying Deep Bodywork™ for the past 7 years at Esalen, the world-renowned healing arts institute in Big Sur, CA . This modality is truly the best of sports & spa massage, characterized by blending the therapeutic potency of focused depth work with the soothing qualities of traditional Swedish treatments. Profound relaxation is encouraged as hands or elbows slowly glide over the surface of your skin while expertly applied pressure allows deeper patterned tension to release. This combination creates a holistic method that not only addresses the muscles, but also restores clarity to the mind, a state often lost through physical injury, emotional trauma, and the everyday stresses of life.
Deep Bodywork™, applied slowly, is one of the most effective means available for alleviating acute and chronic pain, helping clients to overcome stubborn, seemingly intractable physical conditions. Deep Bodyworkers are few and far between here on the East Coast - come experience the results of this highly effective modality for yourself!

Thai Yoga Massage by Patrick Casey
Ready to take your yoga practice to the next level? Consider Thai Yoga Massage - an ancient healing modality that elevates your well-being through a combination of acupressure, Ayurvedic principles and assisted yogic postures. Patrick provides full-body engagement and the type of slow, meditative movement that characterizes Thai Massage. His strength, as well as his extensive training in yoga and martial arts, allow him to effortlessly engage your body, gently pulling the limbs and carefully putting you into positions which can offer a deep opening of joints. All you need to do is breathe deeply and surrender to gravity. Thai work incorporates stimulation of the meridian system within Traditional Chinese Medicine and sessions can provide an energetic shift, opening up the flow of chi in the body. This ancient, dynamic practice has an immediacy that can center, offer whole-body integration and elevate your yoga game!
Patrick has a long history with bodywork and thousands of hours of martial arts and yoga training. He has studied with Amrit Desai, the founder of Kripalu and taught yoga in a maximum security prison. In 2001, he graduated from Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy and in 2006 went to Chiang Mai, Thailand to get his certification at ITM, a widely recognized institution in Thai Massage education.
